Important consent required from growers for TR4 Control Program

· A transfer of information consent letter will be sent to all growers in the Northern banana biosecurity zone from Biosecurity Queensland

· Consent enables data to be shared between Biosecurity Queensland and ABGC

· Data collected includes grower contact information, property location, sampling data and diagnostic outcomes.

ABGC’s TR4 Control Program has commenced. This is a new chapter for Panama TR4 disease management in Queensland and we’re proud to be taking charge.

Experienced surveillance officers from the Biosecurity Queensland Panama TR4 Program have joined our team. We look forward to working with growers to continue to deliver a robust surveillance program.

Before surveillance can commence, we need growers to supply a signed informed consent form, to enable data captured from surveillance to be shared between the ABGC and Biosecurity Queensland. This is an interim measure for the TR4 Control Program until legislation can be amended that allows ABGC to be the custodian of its data.

We have growers’ best interests at the forefront of our operations, and information security is of paramount importance for the TR4 Control Program.

It’s crucial we get your consent, so that we can continue to keep TR4 controlled and contained.

You’ll be receiving a letter from Biosecurity Queensland via post in the coming weeks.

Please complete and return the form – either by a scan, or with a photo taken via your phone and email to panamatr4@daf.qld.gov.au or the reply paid envelope provided.

If you have any questions, contact Geoff on 0418 644 068 or geoff@abgc.org.au

We appreciate your support.
