Program seeks feedback on e-learning trial for service providers

As part of the Program's 'transition to digital' project, Panama TR4 Education will soon be available online with the first of a series of e-learning modules currently being trialled.

'Panama TR4 Protect: E-learning for service providers' offers interactive learning to all businesses who work on, or around, banana farms.  The module is offered on-demand and free-of-charge.  Further e-learning modules in development include Panama TR4 Protect for growers, farm workers and community members.  These will be available for trial early in 2022.

Panama education has come a long way since the disease was first detected in FNQ in 2015.  In response to the initial detection, the Panama TR4 Program offered accredited units under Certificate III in rural Operations with the Queensland Agriculture and Training Colleges.  This was additional to accredited training sessions offered by the Program to industry and community, which were designed to build capacity in protecting banana farms from disease spread.

In more recent times, in-person free Panama TR4 education sessions have been delivered to stakeholders on request.

In-person education sessions can still be arranged by contacting the Program on 4091 8140 or email panamatr4@daf.qld.gov.au.

The e-learning module ‘Panama TR4 Protect for service providers’ is now live at panamatr4protect.com.au/elearning, and the Program is seeking feedback by calling 07 4091 8140 or email panamatr4@daf.qld.gov.au.
